The Overlook Bar is a cinematic, surreal cocktail bar in New York inspired by the uncanny elegance of classic hotel lounges. My role focused on shaping and communicating the identity of the space through visual storytelling, brand voice, and atmosphere.
I developed the creative direction for The Overlook’s social presence and visual identity, leading photography and videography in house to maintain consistency of tone, mood, and emotional atmosphere. The visual language emphasized mystery, warmth, and subtle theatricality, inviting guests to feel as though they had stepped into a story rather than simply entered a bar.
Through narrative driven content and audience engagement, social media performance increased by over 70 percent, helping expand visibility and strengthen recurring guest engagement. The work positioned The Overlook as more than a nightlife venue, but as an immersive environment audiences wanted to return to and share with others.
My approach centered on mood, storytelling, and experiential world building. The intention was to create a place that feels discovered rather than advertised, where atmosphere becomes part of the memory itself.
