The Overlook Bar is a cinematic, surreal cocktail bar in New York, inspired by the uncanny elegance of classic hotel lounges. My role was to shape and articulate the identity of the space through visual storytelling, brand voice and atmosphere.
I developed the creative direction for The Overlook’s social presence and in-venue aesthetic, leading all photography and videography in-house to ensure consistency of tone and emotion. The visual language emphasized mystery, warmth and subtle theatricality, inviting guests to feel as though they had stepped into a story rather than simply entered a bar.
By creating narrative-driven content and fostering community engagement, I increased social media performance by 70 percent and converted new audience interest into sustained in-person traffic. The work positioned The Overlook as more than a venue: a cultural space where people return not only for drinks, but for the world they feel a part of.
My approach centered on mood, storytelling and immersive environment building. The intention was always to reveal The Overlook as a place that feels discovered, not advertised.
